FINAL PRESENTATION


FINAL FOR DSGD 83

Your final for this class is at 7:15 AM ON MAY 21, 2012.

For your final you are to create a presentation of the work you did in this semester. You may use either InDesign or PowerPoint to layout your various projects. Then, you are to burn a CD for me to keep. Your artwork should also be printed out and put into a One inch black binder that you will present to the class, at the same time you give your final presentation. Your presentation should be no more than ten minuets. Long.

The projects you are to include in your final presentation should be the following:

music cd booklet






Using Indesign create a six page music cd. That option is under the create new document menu. It can be any artist that you like. It should contain a title page and several images as well as list of songs. You could include a bio of the performers too.

Flip Book Assignment


Flip Book Assignment:

With this assignment you are to create a flip book. Please make object/artwork where the movement 
evolves from one image into another.

You may use any one of the three software programs you have learned in DSDG 83
or any combination of the, as long at they achieve your aim.

Once you have your idea for the project make several thumbnail drawings
of your ideas and show them to me for feedback. You should also be doing research
using the Internet to determine how best to construct your flipbook.

This project will be due the last day of class. Not to be confused with the final date.

The number of pages shall be determined by your concept and the way you create your final flipbook. Also you will have to determine the weight of the paper and the binding.

Color Matters Brochure

Create a 15 page brochure in InDesign that you will incase all of your color matters projects. This document should have the following items in its design:


  • The pages need to be numbered.
  • There should be two master pages. 
  • At least two or three text wrap around features.
  • A minimum of six or seven images.
  • At least three different pantone colors.
  • A minimum of three different style-sheets.
  • Several captions under photos.
  • One text wrap around a text box.

Color Matters Project













The following in-class projects should be in your color matters folder:

1.) Traditional color wheel.
2.) Matisse Project where you use the trace tool to change each color in the artwork to its complementary color.
3.) RGB and CYMK Color wheels.
4.) Abstract paintings using various shapes to create a composition. Colors chosen from a photo of nature.

Matisse Assignment









Download an image by Matisse from his Jazz Series and use the trace tool to select the various colored selections. Once that is done change the color to its complementary color. Put both the original image and the complementary one next to each other on a 8" x 11" document.

Printing Lab Hours

PRINTING LAB HOURS

MW is 8:30-10:30; 12:30-5:30
(the lab hours has be cut down due to the budget cut.)
Each students can only make 30 print per semester.
As we are trying to save ink and paper, officially students are only allowed to print during their class time.
